Scribkin: TwitKit - The Perfect Twitter Sidebar?

  • tw3nty3ight · 1 year ago
I can't figure out where to find it after installing.... I cannot find an Icon anywhere
  • Phil Glockner · 1 year ago
It should be installed as a sidebar in Firefox, try View > Sidebar > Twitkit.

PS - sorry it took me so long to reply, I'm obviously not used to getting comments right away on my blog!

No worries, but nope not showing up there. Going to try a re-install

You mentioned in a tweet that ctrl-shift-f brings up foxmarks.. would you mind doing the extra step of disabling foxmarks in your add-ons window and seeing if that allows it to appear?
  • tw3nty3ight · 1 year ago
I finnaly got it to appear in the view menu.... However I think Tweetbar is interferring with it...
  • Phil Glockner · 1 year ago
Well that's simple a simple fix.. uninstall Tweetbar. Ok, that's mean but really, I think you will like TwitKit more.
  • tw3nty3ight · 1 year ago
Yep uninstalle tweetbar and BINGO..... Very nice app. Thanks for your help!

Hey! Thanks for the great post. For those who don't know, I'm the guy that makes TwitKit. :)

I am working on fixing that deletion bug, and multiple accounts is on the to-do list. Also, a few tips: clicking on a picture beside a tweet can also prepare a reply (if you don't want to have to click that teeny reply button). Also, pressing Ctrl+Shift+F will toggle TwitKit's visibility.

Thanks again for the kind words.. I hope you all have a great experience with TwitKit! Please stay tuned with http://twitter.com/twitkit for updates about the software.

Thanks Hans, I appreciate you leaving a comment. I will definitely start following TwitKit on Twitter. I'm looking forward to news when you have direct message support implemented!

Awesomesauce. I think I might actually use this...let's see how it holds up with Twhirl.

Hmms, I love your Disqus setup btw!

Thanks! I keep waffling between putting the "add new comment" form on the top or bottom. If it's at the top, it's obviously for new comments and doesn't get used for replies (which I have done a couple of times). However, if it is at the bottom, it forces people to read through the comments before they put theirs in.

I ultimately decided that I prefer the comment form to be at the top, right under the story, and not worry so much about potentially redundant comments (which haven't happened yet anyway).

I was thinking the same and followed your example and moved the new comment
form to the bottom also! :)
  • Phil Glockner · 1 year ago
lol I actually moved mine back to the top. I kept getting confused and using the new comment box when I really meant to reply to the last comment in the list!
  • Corvida Raven · 1 year ago
lol I usually reply to comments through the email notifications. Works like
    a charm. :)

Current versions work with FF3 (yes, I know this is a 3 month old article)
  • Phil Glockner · 1 year ago
Thanks for the update! I still get a lot of people searching for TwitKit so
this is good news. In fact, I'm going to try it out.

@benrhughes you might want to check out twitkit - looks like a good twitter plugin for FF ver 1.5-3.1 http://is.gd/6ZH
