You're very welcome, Franklin. As for *where* you want to place yourself, that is entirely up to you. From the people I chose to list, you can see that I like following all types of people, from collectors of information to pontificating pundits! And I think it's great if people want to broaden their horizons. I do it myself.. I've been known to write an opinion piece now and then.

First, thanks for the mention. Excellent post. :)

Second, its always very interesting to see how you are perceived by your peers. I would mostly agree with your assessment of my FriendFeed style. I would agree and place myself in the Digest box most of the time. But, you are correct that I do write from the historian point of view. Perhaps I need to be a little crankier and trend toward pundit.

This is the one time I will happily sit in the middle of the graph. I like switching roles from time to time, it makes for an interesting learning experience. I agree. When I was thinking of the chart Mitchell of course was one of the tent pegs. I wish I had found perfect examples of the other two though.

I agree with your analysis of me. I am in stream mode most of the time, digesting in the background. I do write from a historical perspective. Excellent post!

Stream all the way, anything else involves more effort and focus. But not having an attention span does not help me switch modes.

Interesting idea. According to your diagram I am always in digest mode with a bias towards historian and some pundit breaks. Mitchell is the easiest to fit I think because he is constantly archiving.

I totally agree with that Rahsheen. I stopped seeing ADD has a liability once I left high school. Sure, it is a handicap at times, but it also makes my perspective and abilities unique and different. It doesn't make me any less intelligent.

Definitely.. I *had* two include those two, because they are so hyper-focused in certain areas on my chart. It would be interesting to find others that are focused in only one area as well.

Excellent post, I think I'm about the same as you. I play in the stream, letting everything flow past, snatching out the shiny bits that look important. Later on, I can usually see a bigger picture from what I collect.

I definitely have a touch of the ADD. Frustrating at times, but gives me super powers above and beyond mere mortals other times :)

I was close, then. That's basically what I meant by 'pure critical thinking' .. sometimes you point out when someone hasn't thought through an issue completely, or if their logic is flawed. You help us other writers become better without necessarily coloring our views with your own.

Great post. I'm not very good at analyzing myself (something I'm working on), but I *think* I pop back and forth between Digest and Stream and probably sit in Digest most of the time.
